My aim at Vitale Natural Skin Care is to have as wide range as possible of best-quality Australian natural & organic products for skin, hair and body. We all have individual skin and no one brand can offer solutions for all: different products suit different skin types. You may also notice that we sometimes r ecommend or combine products from different ranges. This is because they are the best products for the individual or the particular skin issue.

When choosing the brands for Vitale, my first choice is to choose Australian. Sometimes I can't find what we are looking for in an Australian range so then I will look for a range internationally. Again, different ranges offer different benefits. One thing you can be sure of is that I choose natural or organic products.

The other criteria I use for choosing products is:

  • Quality Products & Ethical Ingredients - quality ingredients are one step toward a guarantee of potency and effectiveness. I love detail and so will pore over the ingredients list of a product to see what makes it good...or not. I will not choose products with questionable ingredients, synthetic or potentially toxic ingredients. Nor will I choose products containing animal parts or that have been tested on animals. We do our own testing around here! Some of our products contain substances made by bees such as beeswax, bee pollen, propolis and honey.
  • Purity - this is where natural, organic and biodynamic ingredients become important. The benefits of natural & organic ingredients are many but in particular, research has shown that the level of antioxidant and phytochemicals are higher in organically grown plants. Ingredients extracted from organic or biodynamic plants are rich in these nutrients and of course the benefits are seen and felt when used in skin treatments and everyday skin care. Antioxidants and phytonutrients are particularly important in natural skin care as they help to stop free radicals which can contribute to skin cell damage. Free radicals are created from the sun's rays, environmental pollution, electromagnetic pollution (mobile phones), the food we eat, flying, stress - and the list goes on. Using organic & biodynamic ingredients is better for your skin and better for the environment.
  • Effective Formulations - natural or not, the products have to be effective. It can take me a long time to evaluate new product ranges as I need to be sure that they fit the above criteria but also that they work to support and nourish skin health. Sometimes this takes a week, sometimes a month. The other factor I consider is what skin type or issue is the range for. For example Devita is a specifically anti-ageing natural skin care which includes ingredients such as Alpha Liopic Acid whereas the range of products for Acne are healing, work to control excess sebum, and anti-inflammatory; and so contains different ingredients. I also look for ranges that have a point of difference from each other.
I hope you find this information helpful. If you have questions about a range, a product or an ingredient or would like me to consider a natural skin care range please e-mail me, Ananda Mahony info@vitalenatural.com.au or call me on 07 3367 3233

natural & organic skin care is more active than many synthetic formulations. Excluding water, natural skin care products contain up to 95% active ingredients. In contrast, many everyday personal care products and cosmetics contain only 5% active ingredients in a 95% inert (non-active) base. You will notice a difference when you use natural & organic skin care products.

Natural & organic skin care products and natural body care products contain nutrients, including naturally occurring antioxidant, amino acids, botanical extracts, pure essential oils and essential fatty acids in their holistic form. Which is more compatible with our skin and bodies. This includes nutrients such as grape seed (rich in phytochemicals that support the skin), rose hip oil (rich in vitamin C), Carrot oil (rich in vitamin A), pumpkin seed oil (rich in zinc), olive oil (rich in squalene) to name but a few. These ingredients promote healthy skin by nourishing from the outside in.

Truly natural & organic skin care products contain no synthetic ingredients such as artificial colours or fragrances. Artificial fragrances are amongst the most irritating ingredient in skin care with the ability to cause or significantly contribute to irritating skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes and hives. You will notice the difference in your skin when you avoid such ingredients.

Nor do natural & organic skin care products contain any potentially harmful ingredients such as petrochemicals, mineral oils, sodium lauryl sulphate and propolene glycol. According to Skin Deep, an Environmental Working Group in the US, many of the synthetic ingredients used (in the US and Australia) in Linkeveryday skin care are potentially toxic to humans.
